Description
Benefits of the USAA DriveSafe App:
Automatic trip data: The app uses GPS and other sensors to map your trips and understand when and how you're driving.
Driving insights: Keep track of your driving habits — like how much you drive, phone usage while driving and harsh braking.
Crash assistance: If a crash is detected, we'll check if you're OK and help you with next steps.
Quicker claims process: If you choose to file a claim after an accident, your driving information from the app could help move along the claims process.

sad sad
on a brand new s26 ultra, drained over 25% of my battery in a single day when I wasn't driving. Just walking at my job. Uninstalled. I cant use something that will destroy my phone.
Don't know so far.
I don't hate this app. It's fairly easy to get a high score on your driving because it only really tracks your phone inputs (calls, handheld or otherwise, and usage during driving). However, getting marked down for changing a song or something at a red light is annoying. 2* There is NO reason for it to be draining battery 24/7. If Liberty Mutual's garbage app can recognise when I'm driving and activate/deactivate, so can yours. Uninstalled, hard drains my battery constantly. 4/25/26
This app is a battery drainer and CPU/memory overtasker. You will need an app killer to stop it when it runs away and sends too many data packets. You'll notice your phone getting very hot and battery level drop. It will get worse if you use a VPN. Also, you must secure the phone or it will report harsh breaking (e.g. don't put the phone in a cup holder). Worth the discount, but you must manage this app.
You must use the app from now on if you have USAA and want to earn and keep a discount... The app will constantly check throughout the day/night and waste your battery. If you remove the app, you lose your discount, if you ever even get one. I had it for 6 months and never got a discount. USAA obtained lots of free personal data, while invading my privacy/data all hours of the day/night and usaa constantly using my phone data, battery & signal. If it sounds too good to be true...
app does not stay open anymore
got a new phone just to use app, couldn't use my S9. It records incorrect data, even after meeting the miles to drive, it's still recording, shows a call disconnect when I'm not even on the phone, very intrusive & only provides minimum discount. usaa should provide accurate app to their drivers. Is the app worth the headache?
I downloaded the app and now my phone's battery has been draining very fast. I took the time to check how much it burned and with the battery saver on after 40 minutes of driving for work it went from over 20% down to 9% percent without me doing anything. That is roughly at least 1 percent about every 4 minutes. That is insane and it also makes my phone incredibly hot. I can feel the heat of my phone just in my pocket through my jeans with my hand. This only started after I installed the app.
